Gary Van Johnson, 70, of Danville, died Monday, June 13, 2022 at his home. He was born in Burlington on February 28, 1952 to Cecil R. and Patricia M. Schaefer Johnson. He attended Revere Missouri High School.
Van worked at CeCo for years and for Russ Williams Excavating. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and harness racing.
He is survived by four step-daughters; Annette (Scott) Upton of Cedar Rapids, Brenda (Clint) Heinold of New London, Shelly Carson of Cedar Rapids, and Wendy (Mike) Jennings of Mt. Pleasant.
Three brothers; Terry and Harry both of Baring, Missouri and Wayne (Dee) of Danville, and one sister Sharon (Neil) Cornwell of Winfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and there will be a memorial celebration at a later date. Elliott Chapel, New London, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.
