Harlan William Craff

Harlan William Craff, 91, a resident of Brighton, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at his home peacefully, surrounded by family.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 10th at Hope Lutheran Church, 1465 Walnut Ave, Brighton, Iowa. Burial will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Harlan would rather have memorials made to Hope Lutheran Church or Hospice of Washington County.

Harlan was born August 8, 1934 in Fairfield, the son of Dale and Pearl (Hank) Craff. He married Marvyl McKenzie on February 5, 1961.

Harlan Served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He worked in construction, drove semi tractor trailer, and farmed. Harlan was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; loved cutting firewood; and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Harlan never liked sitting still and was always on the move.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marvyl; children, Shelly Carnes of Fairfield, Pam (Rose Pugh) Craff of Birmingham, Mike (Lisa) Craff of Ottumwa, and Doug (Susan) Craff of Brighton; grandchildren, Tyler, Brianna, Derek, Bryce, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Karson, Vivian, Zoe, Baylor, and Baylee; two great-grandchildren on the way; and his good friend, Harold Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grand infant.
