Heavy Rainfall and Flash Floods to Impact Iowa Tuesday Evening

Don’t schedule any parades on Tuesday evening, as the National Weather Service is forecasting rain. Severe weather and heavy rain are possible starting tomorrow afternoon and into Wednesday morning. Flash flooding is a possibility, with the chance on rainfall rates exceeding 1” per hour on Tuesday night.

Damaging wind, large hail, and tornadoes are possible in our area. Currently, there is a 30-44% chance of damaging winds able to down trees, a 15-29% chance of hail capable of denting cars, and a lesser chance of tornadoes.

Keep an ear and eye on storms coming through the area, and stay away from the river as those levels will continue to rise throughout this week.
