Jack Sexton, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Prestige Care Center in Fairfield.
Jackie Dean “Jack” Sexton was born on September 2, 1953 in Kentucky. He was the son of Ed and Ruby (Combs) Sexton. He was a graduate of the Whitesburg High School of Whitesburg, KY, as a member of the Class of 1971. He served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Jack was united in marriage to Ivalee Stamper. The couple later divorced. On November 2, 1991 in Clark County, Nevada, Jack was united in marriage to Maly Khamvong. They later divorced as well.
After high school and his Army enlistment, Jack moved to Chicago where he was a Maintenance Man for a large apartment complex in Chicago. He has been a resident of the Mt. Pleasant area since 1995. After locating in Mt. Pleasant, Jack worked at the former Blue Bird School Bus Company in Mt. Pleasant. Following Blue Bird’s closing, Jack accepted a position at West Liberty Foods. For the past 10-15 years, Jack occupation and passion was raising German Shepherds and Doberman Pinschers. He was known in dog breeder circles by his monikers “Wolfman Jack” and “Madman Jack”. It was a career Jack to which he was deeply dedicated and truly loved.
Jack is survived by a daughter, Chastity Collins Surratt of Isca, KY; siblings Henry (Sandra) Sexton of Lexington, KY, Barbara Ann Patrick of Springfield, OH, Paulette (Doug) Hunt of Illinois and Van Edward Sexton of Addison, AL; his grandchildren – Ashley and Nick Collins, 3 great grandchildren, his neighbor Mike Moothart and his friend Rick Whitaker.
Jack’s parents, sisters Cora Lu Adams, Dicie Ellen Prolitt and Sadie Lee Haggard and a brother in infancy, Billy Ray Sexton precede him in death.
A funeral service for Jack will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 10 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service
