Jane M. Gatlin, 68, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Richmond. The family will greet friends from 9 -11 AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Jane Mildred (Rotenburger) Gatlin was born September 3, 1954, in Iowa City, the daughter of Leonard and Lela Mae (Parson) Rotenburger. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. On August 29, 1975, she was united in marriage to Donald Gatlin in Fairfield. Jane worked at Sheller Globe and AIC for 38 years. She enjoyed camping, spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids, and friends.
Survivors include her children: Jeanny Gatlin, Jeremy (Veronica) Gatlin, Samantha Lycke, goddaughter Crystal Fanatia, three grandchildren: Adreanna Stedman, Dakota Fanatia, Larissa Gatlin, five great-grandchildren: Azrial Lycke, Jerry Lee Fanatia, Fallon Ross, Aiden Lycke and Beau Fanatia, three siblings: Jim (Jackie) Rotenburger, Sharon McDougal and Donna (Joe) Fanatia.
Preceding Jane in death were her parents, her husband Donald, her brother Gerald Rotenburger and her sister Lucille Rotenburger.
