June I. Carver, 85, of rural Wayland, died Sunday, May 30, 2021.

A funeral service for Mrs. Carver will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 6, at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. Chaplain Gordon Hawkins of Every Step Hospice will officiate. Burial will be in the Lambirth Cemetery, rural Mt. Pleasant. Open visitation will be from 12 Noon – 6 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the service on Sunday. The service will be livestreamed on the Kimzey Funeral Home Facebook page.

The family would prefer those in attendance to wear masks and abide by social distancing guidelines. Those considering an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers may direct memorials to the Lambirth Cemetery Association. Online condolences may be left at www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Carver, the former June Ilene Daines, was born October 3, 1935 in Keokuk, IA. She was the daughter of John and Georgia (Hawkins) Daines. On December 25, 1951 at the Greenmound Church of God, rural Trenton, June was united in marriage to Kenneth Faye Carver.

June worked side by side with Kenneth as a proofreader for the Salem News, the newspaper they operated. For a short time, she worked at the Sylvania Plant in Mt. Pleasant. In 1968, June began working at Heatilator Industries in Mt. Pleasant. She retired in 1993 after 25 years of service to the company.

June enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting.

Those thankful for sharing in June’s life include a daughter, Kathy Carver Floy of Princeton, MN; a son, Scott (Marlene) Carver of rural Trenton; a brother, Dennis (Deb) Daines of Hamilton, IL; 4 sisters – Betty Timm of Ithaca, NE, Darlene Smith of Urbandale, IA, Charlotte (Dennis) Stalder of Wayland, and Elizabeth (Dennis) Glover of Lockridge; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Her parents, husband, 2 daughters – Patti June Carver and Brenda Sue Carver and sisters Lucy Parker-Callison, Ruby Morgan, Marguerite Lyon and Jackie Printy precede June in death.
