The Mount Pleasant City Council will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The session will be held at City Hall, 307 East Monroe Street, in the second-floor meeting room.
Several significant items are listed under new business. The council will review a contract with Kinney & Sons Excavating & Grading for sanitary sewer pipe repairs on Winfield Avenue. They will also take action on authorizing the mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Shive-Hattery Architecture + Engineering to help the city meet upcoming phosphorus testing requirements at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, as required by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Two ordinances will receive their first readings: an amendment to Chapter 14 that would prohibit loitering and panhandling in certain areas, and an amendment to Chapter 25 related to hazardous materials response charges.
The council will also consider issuing a new Class C Retail Alcohol License for L&J Products LLC at 1405 North Broadway Street.
A public forum will follow, giving residents the opportunity to speak. The council is expected to adjourn with the next regular session scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
