Lockridge — No injuries are being reported as a part of a fire that broke out in a scrap metal yard West of Lockridge, yesterday.

Officials say the fire could be seen for 15 miles away.

Fire crews from Lockridge and Fairfield were on the scene fighting the blaze.

Water tankers were used to transport water to the scene.

A Feinberg Metal Yard employee used a track hoe to move away flattened cars to keep the fire from spreading, while fuel tanks were exploding.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
