Patrol Releases Details for Two Crashes

The Iowa State Patrol has released the details of two different crashes. The first occurred July 4 at 10 pm on 218 at the northeast edge of Mount Pleasant.  Thomas Moburg of Altoona was driving south when a deer ran into the driver’s side door of the vehicle. The impact caused the side airbag to deploy.  The driver received minor injuries from the airbag deployment.

July 6 at 3:30 pm the Patrol along with other are law enforcement investigate a two vehicle crash on Hwy 218 south of Mount Pleasant at the intersection with River Road. Both Sue Cross of Salem and Franz Dunsworth of North Liberty were driving North o n 218.  Cross slowed down for a farm implement. Her vehicle was struck from behind by the Dunsworth vehicle. No one was injured. Dunsworth was cited for failure to maintain control, and driving with a license that was denied, suspended or cancelled.
