Paul E. Grossman, 97, of Farmington, Iowa, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
Born December 22, 1924, in Farmington, Iowa, the son of Charles E. and Ethel (Goody) Grossman. On December 2, 1945, he married Jeane Rohdy at the Sharon Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife: Jeane; three children: Dennis (Diane) Grossman of Farmington, LeAnn (Jeff) Jones of Donnellson, and Charles (Cheryl) Grossman of Colleyville, Texas; seven grandchildren: Denise (Jason) Evans, Dawn (Eric) Conklin, Dana (Justin) Huling, Steve (Billi) Jones, Leslie (Ryan) Benner, Jennifer Grossman, and Jake (Ellen) Grossman; also survivng are nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Dean, Joe, and Forrest; one sister Erma Folker.
Paul graduated from Farmington High School. He was a member and served as Elder and Trustee of the Sharon Presbyterian Church. He served as president of the Harmony School Board. He was a Bonaparte Township Trustee and served on the Board of Farmers Co-op. Paul was an honorary member of the Harmony Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed farming, especially harvest and walking in the timber. When he was younger he enjoyed hunting squirrels, quail, and deer.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington. There will be no family visitation.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Sharon Presbyterian Church, near Farmington with John Robertson and Pastor Katrina Bergman officiating.
Burial will be in the Sharon Church Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Sharon Presbyterian Church, Farmington EMT’s or Bonaparte First Responders.
