Pearly Dale Watson, 85, of New London, died Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at his home. He was born December 15, 1935 in Missouri to Virgil Lee and Vica Mildred Johnson Watson. On November 22, 1954 he married Janet Robb; they divorced. He married Evelyn Settles Huston on April 7, 1990 in Burlington. He was a graduate of Livonia, Missouri High School.
He was employed at Cargill and Blue Bird in Mt. Pleasant and retired from Champion in Burlington after 34 years. He enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, and loved taking his beloved dog Patches for daily walks.
Besides his wife Evelyn, he is survived by two daughters, Carol Rose of New Braunfels, Texas and Lori (Scott) Baylor of Mt. Pleasant; two step sons Bryan (Amanda) Huston of McKenzie, Tennessee and Brad (Ginger) Huston of Danville, Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Jerry Watson and his brother Ray Watson.
According to his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 19, 2021 at Elliott Chapel, New London with Pastor Brian Swafford officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 until the time of the service; the family will not be present. Inurnment will follow the service at Burge Cemetery, New London.
