Mediapolis scored seven runs thru two innings as they earned an 11-7 nonconference win over Mount Pleasant last night at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.
Jack Johnson was the losing pitcher for Mount Pleasant, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk over just one inning.
Payton Hagans pitched four solid innings out of the bullpen allowing two earned runs while striking out six.
Johnson and Chase Williamson each had two hits, while Zerek Venghaus drove in two.
Mediapolis moved to 18-9.
Mount Pleasant fell to 5-20.
New London 12, Keota 0
New London 10, Notre Dame 4
In a rare split doubleheader, Class 1A’s seventh-ranked New London took care of business beating Keota and Notre Dame yesterday in New London.
In game one against Keota — a 12-0 Tiger victory — Carter Allen had three hits to pace the offense, while Tucker Gibbar had two hits and three runs batted in.
Allen was the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits over five innings.
In game two against Notre Dame, New London scored in every inning en route to a 10-4 triumph.
Ryan Richey and Carter Allen each had two hits for New London, with Allen scoring two runs, driving in two and doubling.
Hecniel Rodriguez worked three innings striking out seven for the Tigers, with Kooper Schulte and Seth Bailey teaming up to cover the remaining four frames.
That duo tag teamed for six punchout’s between the two of them.
New London improved to 22-1 with the set of wins.
