West Burlington 5, Winfield-Mount Union 1
Jacob Ford had three hits, a run scored and a stolen base but it was not enough as West Burlington rallied for a 5-1 win over Winfield-Mount Union last night.
Nick Crow drove in the lone run for Winfield, while David Nichols and Cole Milks doubled.
Crow took the loss for the Wolves tossing 4.1 innings allowing five runs, only three earned.
He struck out two.
The win propelled West Burlington to 11-9.
Winfield-Mount Union dropped to 2-19.
Mediapolis 6, Hillcrest Academy 1
Mediapolis’ slugger Jaxon Brooks had a double and triple as the Bulldogs stayed hot with a 6-1 winner over Hillcrest Academy last night.
Brooks pumped in two runs batted in in the win.
Ryan Ensminger pitched a complete game, striking out five for the Bulldogs.
He also singled twice and scored three runs.
Mediapolis improved to 16-8.
Hillcrest Academy evened up at 8-8.
