New London — New London sophomore guard Blaise Porter had another terrific campaign and his play is being recognized now at the state level.

Yesterday Porter was named Second Team All-State by the Iowa Print Sports Writer’s Association.

Porter was one of just three underclassmen honored in Class 1A.

The electric 6’1′ guard guided New London to a 19 win season, falling one win short of an appearance in the 1A State Tournament.

Porter led the Tigers, averaging 22.4 points, five assists and four rebounds per game, while connecting on 53% of his field goals.

He shot 41% from three point territory.

Porter earned his first Division I scholarship offer last year, picking up an offer from Bryant University.
