Prep Girls’ Soccer- The Southeast Iowa Super Conference (SEISC) released the girls’ All-Conference team and Notre Dame/West Burlington, who logged their first winning season since 2023, ran away with the awards and First Team accreditation.
Player of the Year
Notre Dame’s Daisy Hazell (Junior) walked away with Player of the Year as she finished the year top three in conference for goals with 20 (2nd), assists with 8 (2nd), and points with 48 (3rd). She was also given First Team honors.
Coach of the Year
It was a perfect run through conference for Notre Dame/West Burlington as the Nikes finished the season with an 8-7-2 record to get back to the program’s winning ways. Resulting in Nick Jeffries being named Coach of the Year.
First Team
Along with Hazell, Notre Dame placed Avery Jeffries (Freshman), Makyla Marsden (Senior), and Enna Weber (Junior) on the First Team. Jeffries led the team in points as she produced a conference leading 15 assists to go along with third most goals in the conference with 17. Marsden added eight goals, while Weber was a strong defender, adding five assists.
Mediapolis’ Camryn Bailey (Senior) led the conference in goals with 24 and points with 52, as she was joined by Amelia Grier (Senior) and Clara Box (Senior). Grier even scored a goal in their 2-1 postseason victory over Notre Dame/West Burlington.
Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union put Naveiah Garza (Senior) and Dahlia Valdez (Senior) on the First Team, as Garza, a senior, netted five goals to finish second on the team in points.
Wapello ended their 49-game losing streak after beating Central Lee 3-2 and even picked up a postseason win over the Wildcats, 2-1. Helping the Arrows get there was Kambrie Miller (Junior), Oyuki Reyes-Chiang (Junior), and Kallie Kemper (Senior). Miller scored nine of the team’s 15 goals on the season, while Kemper had two assists and three goals. Reyes-Chiang was the team’s main defender.
For the goalies, Aubree Bunnell (Sophomore) of Central Lee led the conference with an otherworldly 218 saves with Reese Connolly (Freshman) stopping 180 shots for Wapello. The next closest was Notre Dame’s Jeffries with 87.
