Keokuk struck early and often in both ends of a doubleheader as the Chiefs rolled to a pair of victories over Mount Pleasant last night.
In game one, a Keokuk 12-2 win, Ella McNamee had three hits in three trips, including two doubles.
Jersey Beachy had a double and an RBI.
Madison Helling was the losing pitcher.
In game two, Mount Pleasant was held to just two hits in a 17-0 loss.
Grace Kelley and Ella McNamee had those two hits.
Emma Starr was the losing pitcher in the circle.
No. 15 (1A) Winfield-Mount Union 5, Wapello 0
Madie Anderson did her thing once again, tossing a a four-hit shutout as No. 15 (1A) Winfield-Mount Union eased into a 5-0 win.
Anderson struck out 12 hitters, another double-digit strikeout performance for the senior ace.
Carlee Sloan and Jobey Malone each had two hits.
Sloan drove in two.
Winfield-Mount Union upped their record to 14-3.
Danville 6, New London 4
Haiden Molter and Ava Smith had two hits for Danville as the Bears earned a hard-fought 6-4 win over New London last night.
Graci Walker drove in four runs for Danville, who improved to 6-10.
Elly Manning was the losing pitcher for the Tigers, allowing 12 hits and four earned runs while striking out six over seven innings.
Smith was the winning hurler for Danville, going the distance scattering just five hits and striking out five.
New London slumped to 4-19.
