Russell “Bugsy” Chambers

Russell Douglas “Bugsy” Chambers, 74, a resident of Richland, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at Jefferson County Health Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Antioch Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for final expenses.  Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Doug was born January 18, 1950 in Fairfield, the son of Russell “Ike” and Josephine “Jo” (Coop) Chambers. He was a 1968 graduate of Pekin High School.

Doug worked as a carpenter for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, Chicago Bears Football, Chicago White Sox Baseball and played guitar in several bands.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings, Cindy Bowermaster of Packwood, Kathy (Jerry) Allison of Monroe, Iowa, and Ray (Renota) Chambers of Packwood; nieces and nephews, Chris (Kim) Bowermaster, Scott (Christy) Bowermaster, Kori (Matt) Teeter, Sami (Sonia) Allison-Rodriguez, James Chambers, Alex (Sarah) Chambers, Evan Chambers, Brenna Chambers and Nellie Chambers; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
