Sherry Lee Hogue, of Maharishi Vedic City, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Vedic and Jewish Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Jennifer Hamilton and Rabbi Alan Green presiding.
Sherry was born in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of Hollis and June (Kline) Hogue. She grew up in Redwood City, California, and always maintained a special affection for the Bay Area.
Sherry was a long-time teacher of the Transcendental Meditation program and chaired the Berkeley TM Center. She served as a founding director of the Continuing Education Department and completed graduate programs in education and Maharishi Vedic Science at Maharishi International University. Sherry devoted her entire adult life, over 50 years to advancing the development of consciousness through Maharishi’s programs. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Development of Consciousness from MIU in recognition of her many decades of dedicated service.
Sherry will be remembered for her natural grace, sweetness, and joyfulness. She is survived by her partner, Dr. Robert Schneider; her close friend, Reena Boone; and her brother, Don Hogue.
Memorial donations may be made to Maharishi International University, Beth Shalom Synagogue or Raja Raam Foundation in her honor.
