Women’s College Basketball: Tigers Perfect at Oak Hills Tournament:

Iowa Wesleyan used a 14-3 first half run to jump out to an early lead and never looked back as the Tigers rolled to 91-76 win over Williams Baptist University, Saturday.

The win capped a perfect weekend at the Oak Hills Inn and Suites Classic.

Breanna Wendland paced Iowa Wesleyan with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Maci Kuchta and Brittany West each added 17 points, while Kuchta had seven assists.

Brielle Baker chipped in with 16 points.

Now 3-0, the Tigers will take on Monmouth College in their next contest Wednesday at Ruble Arena.

Tip is set for 5:30 pm.

Men’s College Basketball: Wesleyan Drops Fourth Straight:

Iowa Wesleyan’s losing skid has extended to four games following their 84-73 loss to Columbia on Saturday.

The Tigers, trailing for the majority of the game, cut the lead to single digits late but Columbia’s 16-of-19 from the free throw line proved to be the difference.

Former New London standout Alex Dentlinger paced Wesleyan with 25 points and three boards.

Victor Munoz had 16 points and five boards despite the loss, as well.

Tony Burks led Columbia with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Wesleyan will look to snap their skid on Wednesday night when they host Clarke University.

Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

College Football: Waldorf Stampedes Tigers:

Waldorf led 21-0 at half and 35-0 at the end of the three quarters, riding that to a 42-12 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday.

Wesleyan quarterback Gavin Esquivel completed 16-of-34 passes for 207 yards, two touchdowns and interception.

Jaden Harris hauled in four catches for 68 yards while Kelan Dove was the recipient of both touchdown throws.

Kam Cole led the ground game with 13 handles for 78 yards.

Waldorf rushed for 232 yards as a team and four scores.

Wesleyan, now 2-7, will look to close the season with a bang when the travel to Mayville State on Saturday.
