College Basketball: Hawkeyes Ready for NCAA Tournament Opener:
The eight ranked Iowa Hawkeyes take the two seed in the West Region into today’s NCAA Tournament opener against Grand Canyon.
A matchup to watch is Iowa All-American center Luka Garza against Grand Canyon seven-footer Asbjorn Midtgard.
The Denmark native is averaging 14 points and 10 boards per game for the Lopes, who were winners of the WAC this year under head coach Bryce Drew.
This will be Iowa’s first tournament game since their overtime loss to Tennessee two years ago that prevented them from reaching the Sweet-16.
Tipoff today is set for 5:25 p.m.

College Basketball: Drake to Scrap with USC:
After earning their first win in the NCAA Tournament in over 50 years, the Drake men’s basketball team will be back in action today when they take on the Trojans of USC.
Drake secured a 53-52 “First Four” win to advance to today’s second day of first round play.
USC enters play with a record of 22-7.
The Trojans finished second in the PAC-12, with a record of 15-5.
Tip is set for 3:30 p.m. today.
College Baseball: Iowa Wesleyan at Greenville Today:
The Iowa Wesleyan baseball team will play will a road doubleheader today, when they take on the Greenville Panthers in Edwardsville, Illinois.
The Tigers, coached by former Mount Pleasant standout Blake Beaber, will play game one at 12:00 p.m. with game two to follow shortly thereafter.
Game one will be a seven inning contest, while game two will be a nine inning affair.

College Softball: Wesleyan Debuts at Graceland:
For the first time in over a year, Mike Hampton’s Iowa Wesleyan softball team will take the diamond today in a nonconference matchup with Graceland, in Lamoni.
The Tigers, who are playing their 50th Season at Iowa Wesleyan, are led by All-Conference hurler and former New London star Morgan Christner.
Christner was most recently named to the SLIAC All-Decade Team for her exploits in two seasons in purple and white.
Game one will begin at 1:00 p.m., with game two to follow.
