There were multiple field fires in our area on Sunday afternoon.
Just after 2:00pm on Sunday, there was a field fire in the 3300 block of Franklin Avenue in Salem. Multiple first responders attended to the scene, including, but not limited to, Salem Fire and Rescue and the Henry County Sheriff’s office.
Less than 10 minutes later, there was a fire in Mount Pleasant in the 2600 block of Dakota Avenue. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
This is a good reminder to keep an eye on your controlled burns, especially on windy days.
