Susan R. “Susi” Breazeale

Susi Breazeale, 69, of Sherrard, Illinois, died Friday, February 3, 2023, in her home after a long and brave battle with cancer.

A celebration of Susi’s life will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, in CityView Celebrations on the lower level at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, IL, starting with visitation at 4 p.m. followed by a Time of Sharing at 5:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, in Cedar Creek Cemetery, rural Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Those attending should meet at Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, at 10:45 a.m. to process to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Family and friends are invited to a luncheon and a time to share memories which will be held at the First Baptist Church, 100 East Webster Street, Mount Pleasant, following the committal service

Susan Ruth Breazeale was born August 12, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, to Raymond and Eleanor (White) Breazeale. She attended NE Missouri State, was assistant manager at The Body Shop in South Park Mall, and had been a food demonstrator at HyVee Food Stores. She was a supporter of the Michigan Women’s’ Music Festival, and loved nature, rocks, and crystals. She cherished time spent with her many special friends.

Susi is survived by her life partner, Penny Wickert; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Lyndon Leichty of Mt. Pleasant; nieces, Elisa Leichty and Amanda (Dan) Rieger; a nephew Greg (Sarah) Leichty; a great-nephew, Owen Rieger; and Penny’s sisters, Pat (Jerry McCarty) Hemenway and Pam (Clay) Erickson, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sally Breazeale.
