Tamara Lee Howe

Tamara Lee Howe, 67, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away at 7:16 a.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born on June 11, 1959 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Norma “Jean” (Wagner) Hoyer.
Survivors include her two sons: Michael Howe, Matthew (Shawna) Howe; four grandchildren: Karlie Bechtel, Myah Howe, Brantley Howe, Corbin Howe; father Fred Hoyer; sister Jenny Brown; two nieces: Stephanie Brown, Ashley (Jimmy) Eads; two aunts Beverly Hocker, Roberta Handler; best friend Susan Holtkamp; and her dog Ruby.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jean and brother-in-law Steve Brown.
Tammy graduated from Central Lee High School and earned her Registered Nursing degree from Southeastern Community College. She dedicated thirty years to nursing, twenty of those to Keokuk Area Hospital Emergency Room, before her retirement. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs. Tammy especially enjoyed taking her dogs on walks. She was a free spirit who enjoyed diamond art, scrapbooking, shopping, going to craft shows, and farmers markets.
Her body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.
A Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.
