Thomas W. Lorenzen, 59, of Salem, Iowa passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Tom was born on July 10, 1965, in Clinton the son of William Alan and Bonnie Jo (Tripp) Lorenzen. Following his graduation from high school he joined the United States Navy in 1983 and was honorably discharged in 1987. Tom worked with his father in their gutter business. He enjoyed camping, bald eagles, watching Sy-Fi movies, westerns and eating ice cream. Tom was united in marriage to Rosemary Burr on July 4, 2007, at the Garden Chapel of Love in Las Vegas. Tom and his wife Rose were team truck drivers from 2000 until December of 2024. They cross country drove for Schneider, Brad Moutrie and later Hobby Lobby. He was a master wood worker. Tom was a devoted Christian.
Those thankful in sharing in his life include his wife, Rose, his brother, James (Tara) Lorenzen, his sister, Lisa (Paul) Koser, his stepchildren, Sarah Gordon, Joshua Gordon, four step grandchildren and one step great grandchild, four nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one great nephew, Noah.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, with full military honors conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2 until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
