Violet Rose Kelly, 81 of Fairfield passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
Violet was born on May 26, 1940, in East Bernstadt, Kentucky, the daughter of Peirce and Cora (McWhorter) Hammock. She was a jokester and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Violet was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She lived her life to the fullest.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Rick) Cook of Fairfield, her grandchildren, Zech, Rachel (Solomon) Maselli, Tiana, Ashley, Derrick and Codie, great grandchildren, Alexis, Ryan, Grace and Ruby, two brothers, Tommie Hammock and James Hicks and one sister, Mary Leggins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four children, Debby Kelly, Kenneth Kelly, Jr., Hope Kelly and Patricia Kelly, two brothers, James Earl Hammock, Jr., Franklin Cress and two sisters, Betty Miller and Barb Rzasa.
According to her wishes cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. No services are being planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date at the Skyline Memorial Park cemetery in Monee, Illinois.
