Stacy Kay Hunsaker

Stacy Kay Hunsaker, 62, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, after 17 courageous years fighting breast cancer at the Riverside Casino, enjoying what she loved to do getting her free play and free gift.

Stacy was born on September 18, 1962 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of Thomas Leonard and Beverly Ruth (Church) Wilson. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School. Stacy was united in marriage to Cliff Hunsaker on June 27, 1981, in Mt. Pleasant. Stacy worked at Motorola, then Celestica until it closed in 2005. After Celestica closed, Stacy worked at STAATS Custom Awards and Almost Home Doggy Daycare before returning back to STAATS.  Stacy was set to start back as summer help in June 2024, until being placed in hospice care on June 1st, defying the doctor’s prediction of surviving only two weeks. Stacy was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Women’s Basketball fan

Stacy was one of the strongest people, was a superhero to many for her courageous fight with breast cancer. Stacy loved the outdoors, spending hours fishing especially at Uncle Pork and Aunt Vicki Beach’s in Denmark, hunting morel mushrooms, grilling and going to the casino to get her free gift and free play. She loved spending time with family and especially her two grandchildren. Stacy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong fighter to the very end.

Those thankful for sharing in Stacy’s life include her husband, Cliff of 43 years, her daughter and family Jodi (Arthur) Campbell and Kyle and Kara Campbell of Mt. Pleasant, her mother, Beverly Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, her brothers and sister, Steve Pollock of Little Rock, Arkansas, Leonard and Julie Wilson of Mt. Pleasant and her mother-in-law, Linda Hunsaker of Mt. Pleasant.

Stacy was preceded in death by her father of Moore, Oklahoma, her father-in-law, Neil Hunsaker and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Will Hunsaker officiating with a luncheon to follow. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening.  In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to the Mt. Pleasant FFA Chapter and All God’s Creatures Animal Shelter of Mt Pleasant.
