Carla Grimm

Carla Elaine Grimm, 77, of Wapello, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Wapello Specialty Care.  Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello.  Burial will be in Port Louisa Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.    A memorial has been established for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Carla.  Sympathy messages can be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

 

Carla Elaine Cross was born on July 11, 1944 in Wapello, Iowa, the daughter of Ronald M. and Fannie Lea (Matthews) Cross.  Carla was a 1962 graduate of Wapello High School and went on to attend Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant.  On February 19, 1966, Carla was united in marriage to Keith Grimm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Columbus Junction.  Carla worked at Grain Processing Company in Muscatine before her children were born.  She was a member of the Wapello United Methodist Church and most recently of Solid Rock Baptist Church.  Carla enjoyed cards, games, canning, and gardening.  She never knew a stranger, as she was a very social person and was always caring for others. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Even until her final days, Carla was lending a helpful hand to the staff, and resident of the Wapello Specialty Care.

Carla will be deeply missed by her husband, Keith Grimm of Wapello; children, Angie (Ray) Ketcham of Newton, Amy (Rich) Lugo of Wapello, Josh Grimm of Lewiston, Idaho, Jebediah (Robin) Grimm of Wapello and Julie Grimm of Wapello; grandchildren, Nick Stratton, Alexandra Longhurst, Lucee Lugo, Macalister Lugo, Joe Lugo, Teresa Vick, Zachary Grimm, Logan Grimm, Chase Grimm, McKenna Grimm, Morgan Grimm, Kasey Grimm, Kaleb Grimm and Tucker Tipps; great-grandchildren, Natalie Stratton, Lilly Longhurst, Alania Longhurst, Oliver Longhurst, James Longhurst, Henry Longhurst, Tristan Vick, Copper Vick and Nova Vick; and siblings, Ron Cross of Virginia, Sue Ellen Cross-Lea of Iowa and Debbie Wiley of Iowa.
