The Des Moines County Courthouse will close early Tuesday afternoon for a planned emergency training exercise.
According to the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, the courthouse in Burlington will shut down to the public at 3 p.m. on April 21, with the closure lasting for the remainder of the day.
Officials say the training will take place at the courthouse, located at 513 North Main Street, and will involve a significant presence of law enforcement and emergency personnel.
Authorities emphasize that this is only a drill and is designed to help local first responders practice emergency procedures.
Residents who see increased activity around the courthouse are asked not to be alarmed.
