Prep Girls’ Soccer- As the 2026 Iowa High School Girls’ State Soccer Tournaments get ready for the championships scheduled for Friday, June 12th, the Southeast Conference (SEC) was able to release their All-Conference list for the season. Despite not winning the conference, it was Fort Madison that took home the biggest prize of all.
SEC Player of the Year
Fort Madison’s Hadley Wolfe saved one of her best performances for their postseason showdown with Burlington, as the Bloodhound netted two goals to break an eight-game unbeaten streak held by the Grayhounds in a 3-1 final.
That victory cemented Wolfe’s case for SEC Player of the Year with the senior leading the conference with 44 goals, which also ranks 6th in the state, and points with 102, which ranks 5th in the state. Wolfe concluded her career with 105 goals.
Burlington
The Grayhounds are now five-time back-to-back conference champions—shared the title with Fort Madison in 2022—after posting a 9-0-1 conference record and a 14-3-1 record overall. Burlington even ranked as high as #13 in the Class 2A rankings. Amazingly, in their ten-conference regular season contests the Grayhounds allowed only four goals.
Aptly, the seniors led the charge for the pack as Brooklyn Sparrow, Lily Newell, Isabella Ziegler, and Daphne Brown made the All-Conference team along with a junior in Kiara Winski. Brown led the team with 17 goals, but it was well dispersed with Burlington’s top five goal scorers each finding the net at least 11 times, including 14 for Sparrow and 13 for Winski.
Newell helped out on offense with seven goals and six assists, while Ziegler nabbed five goals and three assists as the main defensemen of the team.
Alyssa Burchett and Morrigan Elliot were nominated for All-SEC Honorable Mention.
Fort Madison
The Bloodhounds answered the call of adversity after losing 5-0 to Burlington on the fourth game of the season, as Fort Madison ripped off a non-losing streak of 10, going 9-0-1, and outscoring their opponents 63-6 in that span.
Wolfe was aided by Halle Menke, Reilynn Turnbull, and Kara Lake in getting the Bloodhounds ranked within the top 15 and a game away from a trip to the state tournament. Menke was the main distributor, as her 21 assists not only led the conference but ranked 10th in the state. Additionally, she scored seven goals.
Turnbull did it all with 14 assists and 11 goals, with Lake’s 13 goals ranking second on the team and her 35 points tying Menke for third on the team.
Emma Snaadt and Molly Schulte were placed on the Honorable Mention squad.
Washington
The Demons put together a successful season and nearly gave Burlington their first regular season loss since 2022, in a 3-2 loss. Still, Washington put together their second consecutive winning season and kept the program at or above seven wins for the 7th consecutive season.
The seniors will be missed from this team as they occupy ever All-Conference slot. Making the All-Conference list was Angeline Anderson, Isobel Murphy, Allie Wulf, and Maya Bruty. Anderson finished second in the SEC with 24 goals and 61 points.
Wulf finished second on the team in goals with 14, while Bruty contributed 17 points for the year. Murphy was an anchor of the defense that still found the back of the net and assisted on a goal.
The 10-7 overall and 6-3 in SEC play Demons named Jocelyn Carter and Ellie Farmer to the Honorable Mention list.
Fairfield and Keokuk
The Trojans and Chiefs each turned in 3-7 records in conference play, with Fairfield getting the nudge after beating Keokuk 9-1 in their first matchup of the season. Additionally, Fairfield finished the regular season with a 6-10-1 record, while Keokuk turned in a 5-13 overall record.
For Fairfield, Lexie Mast and Emma Metcalf both made the All-Conference list as Metcalf led the team with 21 goals and 50 points, while Mast distributed a team leading 13 assists and collected 43 points. The two will be together for one more season at Fairfield.
Keokuk put their best offensive and defensive player on the All-Conference team with Bella Boltz leading the team in goals and points in her freshman season, while Mia Fojtik played strong defense.
Fairfield had Anna McAvan and Mallory Wigle on the Honorable Mention list with Keokuk adding Makenna Thomas and Bailey Palmer to the list.
Mt. Pleasant
The Panthers entered the season in a tough spot after graduating most of their starting lineup from last season. Despite finishing with an 0-15 (0-10) record for the season, head coach Yiannis Steryiannis commended his team for the effort they gave throughout the season and how pieces were starting to fall into place.
One of the four Panthers to score a goal this year was Annette Reynolds, as the sophomore was named to the All-Conference list. Sarai Sanchez, a senior, and Emma Humble were placed on the All-Conference Honorable Mention team, as Sanches notched two of the team’s three assists.
