Prep Football- With the 2026 Iowa High School Football season getting ready to kick off next week and scrimmages playing out throughout the state tonight, here’s a look at our local team’s upcoming schedule and last year’s results for Class A District 5. Week 1 is scheduled to kickoff on Friday, August 28th.
Danville: 6-3 (5-1) qualified for playoffs last year
Week 1: West Burlington/Notre Dame (Home) at 7 pm. Last Year: Lost 19-13.
Week 2: Louisa-Muscatine (Away) at 7 pm. Last Year: Shutout the Falcons 48-0 as Dillan Mason threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
Week 3: Columbus (Away) at 7 pm. Last Year: Won 26-14 behind 129 receiving yards and a touchdown from Trevor Yaley.
Week 4: Van Buren County (Homecoming) at 7 pm. Last Year: Won 42-0 as Mason tossed for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
Week 5: Highland (Home) at 7 pm. Last Year: Won via forfeit.
Week 6: ACGC (Home) at 7 pm. Last Year: Did not play.
Week 7: Pekin (Away) at 7 pm. Last Year: Lost 32-27.
Week 8: Wapello (Home) at 7 pm. Last Year: Won 33-31 with Byers Nealey running for 201 yards and two scores, while recording 20 tackles on defense.
Wapello: 5-3 (3-3) qualified for playoffs last year
Week 1: Louisa-Muscatine (Home) at 7 pm. Last Year: Won 34-12 as Rowen Atkinson put up 325 total yards and three total touchdowns.
Week 2: Highland (Away) at 7 pm. Last Year: Triumphed 40-7 with Atkinson collecting 293 total yards and four total touchdowns.
Week 3: Pekin (Home) at 7 pm. Last Year: Lost 52-14.
Week 4: North Cedar (Away) at 7 pm. Last Year: Won 43-0 behind 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Edgar Vazquez.
