A Mount Pleasant man is facing felony charges in Scott County following an investigation into an incident that allegedly occurred in May.
Twenty-one-year-old Benjamin Scott Meador, who is listed with a Davenport address but is from Mount Pleasant, has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse and possession of child sexual abuse material.
According to court records, investigators allege Meador entered a victim’s home in May and sexually abused the victim. Police also allege that during an interview, Meador admitted to possessing sexually explicit images involving a minor and to sending explicit images to that minor.
Meador is scheduled to be arraigned on July 23 in Scott County District Court.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and Meador is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
