State Representative Taylor Collins of Mediapolis is speaking out after a Cedar Rapids woman was charged with third-degree harassment after investigators alleged she sent threatening messages to Collins through Facebook. She has pleaded not guilty, requested a jury trial, and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Her trial is scheduled for October 22.
In a statement released Saturday, Collins thanked the Iowa State Patrol and local law enforcement for helping ensure the safety of lawmakers and their families. He also said he will continue to use his voice and stand firmly on his conservative values and principles, “no matter the threats that come with it.”
