SEIBUS Transportation Services Available to Henry County Residents & SE Iowans

SEIBUS provides public transportation services throughout Southeast Iowa, including regular service for Henry County residents. With transportation services recently receiving attention locally, the current SEIBUS schedule and fare information provides some clarification on the services available.

SEIBUS offers public transportation Monday through Friday in Henry County, generally between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Transportation is available for in-town trips, as well as town-to-town and county-to-county travel, depending on capacity and driver availability. The current one-way fare is $3 for an in-town trip and $9 for a town-to-town or county-to-county trip. Monthly passes are also available.

SEIBUS also operates a separate medical shuttle to Iowa City on Tuesdays and Thursdays, according to its monthly schedule. The shuttle provides transportation to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center and other hospitals in Iowa City, as well as the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids.

For Henry County, the medical shuttle generally picks up passengers at their homes between 7 and 7:30 a.m., arriving in Iowa City at approximately 9 a.m. The shuttle leaves the University of Iowa Hospital at 2:30 p.m., or when the day’s last scheduled appointments are completed. The one-way fare for the medical shuttle is $20.

SEIBUS requires riders to schedule appointments by 2 p.m. the day before travel. Routes are subject to capacity limits and driver availability. Riders should also be prepared to board approximately 10 minutes before their scheduled pickup time. Drivers are not authorized to make unscheduled stops.
