A structure fire was reported Thursday night in Danville.
Danville firefighters and the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 700 block of Main Street at approximately 10:18 p.m. Motorists were asked to avoid the area or use caution while emergency crews worked.
By 11:04 p.m., the fire had been extinguished and firefighters were beginning overhaul operations, checking the structure for remaining hot spots.
No information about injuries or the extent of the damage has been released. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
