A Washington man was arrested Saturday afternoon on multiple outstanding warrants from Johnson County and Iowa City.
According to the Washington County call log, a sheriff’s deputy encountered Aaron Wayne Neuzil, 38, near the railroad tracks at North Seventh Avenue and East Sixth Street in Washington shortly after 12:30 p.m.
Neuzil was arrested on two Johnson County warrants. One was issued for second-degree theft, while the other involved failure to appear for an arraignment on a charge of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. Bond on those warrants totaled $8,000 cash or surety.
Neuzil was also arrested on an Iowa City Police warrant for failure to appear for an arraignment involving second-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree burglary, second-degree theft and third-degree theft. Bond on that warrant was set at $10,000 cash only.
Holds were placed for both agencies. Anyone accused of a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
