A boil/bottled water order has been lifted for residents of Columbus Junction while it remains in effect for Columbus City.

The boil/bottled water order was issued by the City of Columbus Junction Wednesday for streets located south of the high school due to a water main break. The city has since received water sample results that show the water is safe to consume, while the order remains in effect for Columbus City as they await their test results. Those residents should either use bottled water or boil water for one minute before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, or preparing food. Tap water can be used for bathing and similar purposes. Questions can be directed to Columbus City City Hall at (319) 728-2412.
