Dalton Travis Mondia, 16 of Richland and Ottumwa died on Thursday October 7, at his home in Richland.  Visitation will open at 2:00 PM Tuesday October 12, with family present from 5-8PM at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center.  A Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday October 13, at Fairfield Arts and Convention Gifts can be made to a memorial to be designated later by the family. The Cranston Family Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Dalton Mondia.

Bernice Darby

Bernice Darby, age 98, of Haskins, Iowa, passed away December 13 of 2019. A memorial service will be held this Thursday, October 14 at 11 am at the Peterseim(Petershime) Funeral Home in Kalona where the family will greet friends from 10 am to 11 am. Those are the arrangements for Bernice Darby.

Panther Band Places 1st

The Mount Pleasant High School Marching Band on Saturday night at the Clark County Parade of Champions in Kahoka, Missouri placed first in Class 4A and won caption awards for Best Color Guard and Best Drum Line.

The Panther Marching Band’s final competition is October 16 when they will be among 17 bands from an eight county area of District 8 to perform for a rating in the Iowa High School Music Association’s Marching Band Festival at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport. Performance time for Mount Pleasant is 1:30 pm.

Christine Ann (Shaver) Boyles

Christine Ann (Shaver) Boyles, 60, of West Point, Iowa passed away at 6:41 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, in Fort Madison, Iowa.

 

Her body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.

 

Friends may call after 12:00 noon Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point, Iowa, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

A memorial has been established in her memory for the Fort Madison Community School District- Special Needs Department.
