Bill Totemeier

William Walter “Bill” Totemeier, 60, of New London, died as the result of an automobile accident.  He was born February 1, 1962 in Burlington to Clarence Robert and Ruth Margaret Lemon Totemeier.  He was a 1980 graduate of New London High School.

On May 21, 1988 he married Julie Rucker in Burlington; they were married for thirty-two years.  Bill was a lifelong farmer and a steward of the land.  His passion was on regenerative grazing practices.  He enjoyed fishing when he had the time; and in his later years, what was most important to him was spending time with his sons and grandchildren.  He loved his cattle more than most people; was very independent; hated asking for help; and had fantastic mechanical ability. He was sexton and caretaker for Ferrell Cemetery, rural New London, of which he was fiercely protective.

Survivors include his sons Conrad (Alycia), Karl, and Detrich (Morgan) all of New London; grandchildren, Emma, Leif, Isla, Jensen and Elowyn; his ex-wife Julie; sister-in-law  Debbie Totemeier; brother-in-law Edward Clydesdale; cousins; nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carol Ann Baron and brother John Totemeier.

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and there will be no formal services.  Elliott Chapel, New London, is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.
