Boys’ Golf: Matheney Falls One Stroke Short of State

Shellsburg — Mount Pleasant’s Nick Matheny fell just one stroke short of a state appearance following yesterday’s 3A District Tournament at Vinton-Shellsburg.

Matheny carded a 10-over 80, with the cut-off for state being a 79.

He tied with Notre Dame’s Kaleb Allen, who also missed the state meet by one stroke.
