College Baseball: Wesleyan Splits with Bobcats

Mount Pleasant — The Iowa Wesleyan baseball team split with the College of the Ozarks yesterday.

The Tigers took game one 5-2, while losing game two 9-4.

Cauy Massner was the winning pitcher for the Tigers, hurling a complete game allowing just five hits while striking out seven.

Riley Rankin was 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and two singles, as well as two runs batted in.

Carlos Vicente also added an RBI for the Wesleyan offense.

In game two, Wesleyan saw the Bobcats strike for two runs in the 6th and seven in the 7th to overcome a 4-0 deficit for the 9-4 win.

Jackson Van Roekel worked six sold frames allowing just one earned before the bullpen gave way.

Former Mount Pleasant standout Corbin Broeker had a hit, RBI and a run scored.

Wesleyan is now 9-22.

The Tigers will take on College of the Ozarks again today in a doubleheader at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.

The first game is set to start at 12:00 p.m.
