Mount Pleasant — The Iowa Wesleyan softball was blanked twice by No. 22 Ottawa yesterday.

The Braves took game one 6-0 and then won game two 8-0.

In game one, the Tigers fell behind as the Braves were able to put up six runs in the first five innings of the game.

The Tigers tried to get something going in the top of the sixth Tegan Burbridge and Karoline Stratton getting back-to-back hits. However, the Braves held off the Tigers to secure the 6-0 win.

Ivy Geerdes, Burbridge, and Stratton were able to record hits for the Tigers.

In the second game, the Tigers gave it their best to compete with the nationally ranked Braves, but Ottawa proved to earn their national ranking as the Tigers fell 8-0 in the game.

The Tigers will return to action today as they take on Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri for a doubleheader.

The first game is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. with the second game to follow.
