College Basketball: Iowa, Iowa State, Drake All Roll

Iowa 106, Longwood 73

Keegan Murray led Iowa with 24 points and seven boards as Iowa cruised to a 106-73 win over Longwood last night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Jordan Bohannon poured in 18 points while drilling six treys.

Patrick McCaffery chipped in with 11 points, four boards and four assists.

Iowa will host UMKC Friday night.

Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.

Iowa State 84, Kennesaw State 73

It only took two seasons, but Iowa State snapped their 18-game losing skid with an 84-73 win over Kennesaw State last night.

The Cyclones were led by Minnesota transfer Gabe Kalscheur, who had 19 points.

Izaiah Brockington added 18.

Iowa State will be off until Friday, when the Cyclones host PAC-12 foe Oregon State.

Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Drake 87, Coe 61

Tremell Murphy and Tucker DeVries dropped 14 points apiece, as Drake cruised past NCAA Division III Coe College last night.

D.J. Wilkins added 11 for the Bulldogs, who are looking to continue their strong run into the NCAA Tournament from a year ago.

Drake will host South Dakota on Sunday for a matinee, they’ll tip at 2:00 p.m.

Nicholls State 62, UNI 58

Austin Phyfe poured in 20 points, but it was not enough as Nicholls State held on for a 62-58 win over UNI last night.

Tywhon Pickford chipped in with 13 points despite the loss.

UNI is right back on the saddle tomorrow, when they host the Catamounts of Vermont.

They’ll play at 5:00 p.m.
