KILJ — Iowa Wesleyan quarterback Gavin Esquivel has been named the the North Star Athletic Association Conference offensive player of the week.
In Saturday’s shootout loss, Esquivel completed 24-of-40 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns.
Esquivel’s longest completed pass was 69 yards and connected with 10 different receivers in the game.
Esquivel is the first Iowa Wesleyan football player to earn conference honors as the Tigers joined the conference this season along with their return to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic.
The Tigers will host Trinity International University this Saturday for a 12:00 pm contest.
