A semi and a large truck were involved in a crash Thursday afternoon south of Mount Pleasant. Northbound traffic had to be re-routed after the semi hit the back of the truck at about 1:30 pm on Hwy 218. Reports indicate one of the vehicles caught fire. Apparently, the collision caused the semi to jack knife. According to the Iowa State Patrol report the semi did not slow down in time to avoid hitting the truck as it turned into a residential drive. The semi driver, Christoper Love of Tuscumbia, Alabama and the truck driver, Niya Wilcoxson, were both taken by ambulance to the Henry County Health Center.
