Community Blood Drive- ImpactLife will host a community blood drive on July 6th at Fist United Methodist Church of Fairfield from 2-6:30 pm and at Kalona Mennonite Church from 1:30-6 pm. Donating blood is a simple way to help ensure local hospitals have the lifesaving blood products they need for patients facing surgery, cancer treatments, traumatic injuries, and other medical emergencies. Mount Pleasant God’s Missionary Church will host Vacation Bible School July 15–18 from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. each evening at 906 S Jefferson Street in Mount Pleasant. This year’s theme is “Kids Under Construction,” offering children an opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun through Bible lessons, activities, and fellowship. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will offer a ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification course later this month on Tuesday, July 28, at the Des Moines County Extension Office in West Burlington. Registration is $175 and required by tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7. Members of the Iowa Restaurant Association are eligible for a discounted rate of $125 with verification.
