All Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend the Legislative Forums hosted by the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee with State Representatives Collins and Shipley and State Senators Dickey and Lofgren. The forum will take place Friday, March 20 at 9:00 a.m. at Union Block, located at 111 West Monroe Street in Mount Pleasant, and will focus on legislative issues impacting the local community and business environment.

The Fairfield Knights of Columbus is hosting “Fish Fry Days”  from 5pm – 7pm  at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish Hall, 3100 W. Madison Street.  Butterfly shrimp or catfish fillet: $12/dinner, or $5 for a grilled cheese sandwich.  All dinners include baked potato, vegetable, cornbread and dessert.  Dine-in or Carry-out is available.  To order carry-out, call 641-919-2552 or 641-777-3079.  Cash or Venmo accepted and all proceeds go toward scholarships for high school seniors!

It’s Fish Fry Friday hosted by the St. Alphonsus Knights of Columbus starting at 5:30pm in Manning Hall, 607 S. Jackson Street.  Orders must be called in by 11am on each Friday during the Lenten season.  The menu includes a Fish Fillet dinner (fried or baked), $15 or a Jumbo Breaded Butterfly Shrimp dinner for $15.  All dinners come with a baked potato, baked beans, roll and your choice of applesauce or coleslaw.  Kids 12 & under eat for free with the purchase of an adult meal.  All proceeds from the fish fry go toward scholarships for St. Alphonsus high school seniors.  Dine In or Carry Out:  Tim (319-931-7036), Greg (319-931-5466), Bob (319-931-6781)

The Jerry Tolson Jazz Concert will take place Friday, March 20, 2026, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Chapel Auditorium, 601 N. Main Street. This special evening features the nationally acclaimed Jerry Tolson Quartet with guest artist, Grammy Award winner Delfeayo Marsalis. The concert serves as a fundraiser for the renovation of the historic Second Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, the oldest African American church in Iowa, where plans include developing a museum highlighting the African American history of Mount Pleasant. Tickets are $35 and are available at Brown’s Shoe Fit and online at historicsecondbaptistmp.org.
