The Mount Pleasant Police Department business office is closed for Veteran’s Day.
The Henry County Court House is closed for Veterans Day.
HyVee is honoring Veterans by offering a free breakfast to all vets and active duty military members.  A buffet style breakfast will be available.

The New London High School is hosting a Veterans Day assembly at 9:30 am in Lorber Gym.

WMU School will once again continue the  tradition of hosting a Veteran’s Day assembly for students, local veterans and their families, and community members.  This year’s event will be held at 9:30 AM in the big gym. All local veterans and family members, and interested community members are encouraged to attend this meaningful event.  There will be light refreshments following the assembly for veterans and their families.

The Henry County Veterans Day Observance will begin at 10:30 am in the Community Room at the Veterans Hall, located at 300 W. Monroe Street in Mount Pleasant.

Louisa County Veterans Day Ceremony Louisa County Courthouse, Wapello 11am- Ceremony on the east side of the Court House.

Morning Sun Veterans Soup Supper Morning Sun Community Center, Morning Sun 5:30pm- Dine-in or carry out soup supper fundraiser

Oakville Veterans Day community potluck at 6 pm at the Oakville Community Center.

Mount Pleasant High School Drama Department presents, “A Doll’s House” at 7 pm in the Heatilator Center in the Mount Pleasant Public Library Civic Center where City Hall is also located.  There is a performance November 12 at 7 pm and an afternoon performance at 2 pm November 13.

The New London High School fall play, A Family Reunion To Die For, will be presented at 7 pm.  Other performances will be Saturday at 2 pm and Saturday at 7 pm.

The City of Mount Pleasant’s FREE LEAF COLLECTION is scheduled for the week of November 14th. All leaves must be bagged and placed at the curb on your designated trash day. Please separate bags of trash from bags of leaves.
This collection is open to all residents, so if your trash is picked up by a service other than the City and you do not know the day of City pickup in your neighborhood, you should call City Hall at 385-1470.
