There is a garage sale and a salvage sale to raise funds for the repair of the foundation of the Second Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.  The garage sale will be held at 500 W. Monroe from 8 am to 1 pm today and Saturday. Food will be served at the garage sale on Saturday. The Salvage Sale will be held Saturday only from 8 am to 1 pm at the Church located at 407 W. Saunders Street.

Calvary Baptist Church hosts Calvary Kidventure this weekend 6:15 to 8:30 pm at the church, 803 Mapleaf Drive Mount Pleasant. This  is a free vacation bible school f0r kids age 4 thru 6th grade.

The West Point Sweet Corn Festival continues today.  The carnival, arts and crafts in the park and free sweet corn are from 5 to 10 pm.  Bbq chicken dinners will be served from 5 to 10.  The sweet corn eating contest starts at 5 and there will be dance performances afterwards.  Andy and the Decades perform from 7 to 10 pm.
