Mt. Pleasant Historic Preservation Commission will continue their garage sale this week and next from 9am to 1pm both Friday & Saturday at 500 W. Monroe.There will not be a salvage sale at the church, but they will have some salvage items at the garage sale.

Today is the deadline to register for the HCHC Diabetes Education Two Day Class offered August 23 and 24.  Call 319-385-6518.

Main Street Mount Pleasant’s Music on Main is this evening!  The event runs from 6 to 9 pm in Central Park.  They’ve partnered with Relay for Life.  Live music is by the Beaker Brothers.  There will be food, beverages, kids games, a silent auction, raffle, bakes sale, vendor sales and the Luminaria Lighting stars at 9 pm.

New London High School will host their annual Meet the Players Night, beginning at 6 pm in the New London Gym with the introduction of cross country and volleyball participants.  It will then move outside for cheerleading and football intros.  There will also be various fundraising opportunities for Tiger Athletics.
