KILJ is starting Mother’s Day off today with a special Music and the Spoken word program “The Gift of Charity.”  It airs on 105.5 FM at 3 pm.  Thanks to the Kimzey Funeral Home for sponsoring the program.

New London PTO’s 1st annual School Carnival runs from 5 to 8 pm.  There will be food, bounce houses, a 50/50 raffle, a dunk tank, a football toss and much more.  Cost is $5 for individuals or $15 for a family.

Let the Houghton KC’s do the cooking tonight! Call 319-469-2641 for fish dinner carryouts! Please Note: Due to supplier labor & covid issues regarding catfish, only 75 catfish dinners will be available for this evening.  They will have shrimp, as well as swai fillets available as a substitute. ALSO: Houghton Intermediate Baseball tonight starts at 6 PM.  The Concession stand will be open.

Winfield-Mt. Union will host their 6-12 Grades spring concert on Friday, in the big gym.  Music will be performed by the 6th grade, Junior High, and High School Bands and Choirs, as well as Jazz Band.  Additionally, there will be an art show in the lobby displaying works created by secondary students at WMU.  There is no admission charged for the event, but freewill donations are appreciated and are put toward resources that are used throughout the school year.
